our concert events are for the benefit of charity Your performance is a donation to the charity. Each year we choose an organization to donate the proceeds to after the festival. We provide you with a meal, we do not provide travel expenses, please do not ask. We carry no funds from fest to fest and we do not have community support in the form of operating expenses. We depend upon attendance, band and corporate sponsors, donating venues and businesses, and reliable musicians who will be there on time, set up/take down in minimal time for our events to succeed. The band packets sent to you will contain fest info, directions, band passes, flyers, papers to sign, etc. Local and nearby bands will be sent advance tickets to sell to friends, family and fans, sponsor packets - to canvas your neighborhood for monetary or service/raffle donations. You'll have almost 9 months to accomplish that, and we'll help you in whatever way we can. Local and nearby bands who sell tickets are essential to our fund-raising effort, the size of our donation to the charity depends upon it. Bands benefit by having their fans there, and make new fans, as well. In return, we promote you for 9 months or so on the web and in print, and submit your music for local radio air-play. We provide you with a highly skilled sound technician and a dedicated drum kit. You can contact the sound tech to ask any questions you might have about what to bring and how he does his thing. If you have special needs for your performance, you may contact him to let him know what they are well in advance of the show. Last-minute surprises stresses out the staff as well as the bands, messes with the schedule, and we like everybody happy and sounding great on the day of the fest. All performing bands may provide us with an extra copy of your cd or demo to submit for local air-play in the weeks before the festival date. Air-time will be provided by our emcee, "Plain Sam" Tuesday Drive-Time Blues DJ, WUSR 99.5 FM. You may sell cd's and t-shirts at the fest to offset any costs, if you wish.
